Slave Labour

22 May

Every finger tip

Every line on their hands

Every baby

On their backs

Sitting at sowing machines

Making clothes

For our fast fashion industry

Our so called Economy

The injustice is off the scale

They work seven days a week

Some of them do not have running water

For those who pick tea

For those who grow our vegetables

I eat organic

Every wild fish caught

Every organic chicken

Every child slave labour

Finding a certain key ingredient to make our battery cars

Our iPhones

Apple

The nets to catch the people trying to commit suicide

Do you know how hard these slaves work?

Do you know how much they get paid?

How much was your iPhone?

Do you know how many hours it takes to make every single phone

Every bleached piece of cardboard

Every element in the plastic coated wire

Every single material contained in one phone

One laptop

People who grow and pick mango

Every plane

Every drop of oil pumped to fuel transport

Every amount of oil

In every piece of plastic

The earth’s blood

It belongs in the ground

We were never meant to extract it

What a discovery

No, what a huge mistake

The Industrial Revolution

Every plant

Every medicine

Every poison

Every animal

Why are you focusing on my brain?

Do you know my spirit?

Ask my spirit

I am everywhere

Every tree being cut down

And every tree being planted

Every test tube

Glass

Made from sand

Do you know how to make glass?

I’m watching you all

Staring down test tubes

Creating man-made chemicals

Why do you think I quit Pharmacology?

You’d learn more meditating under a tree

Do you know how to channel medicine?

Do you know that you cannot mimic plants?

Their intricate, specific medicine cannot be man-made

Yes I have time for science

Yes I have time for western medicine

But the medical degree is completely flawed

You don’t believe in meridians

Because you can’t prove they exist

Chakras

Energy

Can you not feel it?

So I’m an intuitive feeler

But maybe you’re autistic

Asperger’s

The way you think

The way you academically studied

The way your brain works

I can step into your shoes

But I wish you could think outside the box a bit more

African medicine

Eastern medicine

Tribal medicine

Please, we have gone so drastically wrong

I am aware progress is being made

But it’s the way you think

I wish you’d just ask me

We could learn from each other

I have a lot to learn

And boy, I’m here for it

I’m willing to listen

I’ve got the time

We need balance

The libran scales are tipped

Trying to bring about equilibrium

I trust Mother Nature
