Senses

15 Mar

I’ll miss you

Like the stars when they don’t shine

I’ll miss you

The lady who looked so fine

I’ll miss you

Like the white that’s faded grey

I’ll miss you

Like a daffodil gone in May

I’ll miss you

Like the bird that’s lost a wing

I’ll miss you

Like a jaguar without spring

I see you

In a rainbow that’s just found light

I see you

When London comes alight

I see you

When an athlete’s spark is shown

I see you

When a child’s mind is fully grown

I see you

In the achiever, the doer, the person on the go

I see you

In a dancer, graceful with elegance and flow

I hear you

Blowing in the trees, moving with the air

I hear you

In a person who shows such flair

I hear you

When I’m tired of not fulfilling my dream

I hear you

Guiding, directing me towards the beam

I hear you

In the echo of the wind and wall

I hear you

Clearly, in my thoughts, most of all

I feel you

When your presence is there tingling in my hands and toes

I feel you

When the air turns cool and soft just above my nose

I feel you

Deep inside my soul, body and mind

I feel you

Just there, unconditionally, not hard to find

I feel you

Giving, loving to each and every one of us and sharing

I feel you

Listening and speaking, you are the special person who never stops caring

I know you

Will be listening to all of this

I know you

Will find heaven such bliss

I know you

Will miss your family and friends

I know you

Will find love and freedom that never ends

IT MATTERS

25 Oct

The chaos that surrounds me

The sense of disorganisation unfolds

The light that infiltrates me

The fear of what not done

My father’s health berates me

The youth that trickles downstream

The quiet voice from within me

The volcanic dream I chose to suppress

The ladder’s height which torments me

The stairwell to heaven sublime

The success which tries to find me

The ballerina’s dance lost to a rhyme

The exercise unravels me

The genetic DNA unfolds

The miracles stand before me

The forgiven temperament of my mind

The battle I see around me

The poverty stricken with depression in their eye

The ease of being given

The laze I battle like a sty

The astral traveller grounded for this fight

The focus of not a stranger

The written word which has great might

The injury of frustration

The complex addiction I embrace

The palm like leaf fortune

IT MATTERS not only what’s written on your face

Time

7 Feb

Time is of the essence

Time can speed up

Time can slow down

Time is a healer

Time allows us to feel

Time is a gift

Especially the present

But time waits for no one

It waits for everyone in vain

Time is like the rain

Everyone tastes a different drop

Time is essential

Time should never trap you though

Time can prevent you

Time’s gift is the wave and the moon

Time’s enemy is the sun

Time’s eternal love affair is with this universe and our stars

Remember where time originated

As time once stood still

The Olympiad

7 Feb

Somebody’s waiting at the start line

Somebody’s heart is beating fast

Your name falls upon excited ears

Your country loves your talent; tears

As you breathe; you wait; you anticipate

The stretch, the curve, the bar, the beam,

The floor, the vault, the medal, your dream

As you, your presence, your important stride

Strokes through the water

Watched with incandescent pride.

Your pace, thy face

The chariot awaits

For Gold; for Silver; for Bronze

The time, the place

Great Britain

Every flag colour

2008 to 2012

We win, we lose

Take part

Keep going

We believe in thee

The Five Gold Rings, you see
